Looks similar to the old Gravely machines here in the states, They were real work horses. If you can still get spairs for this type of equipment it could be a wise investment.

I dont know about anyone else but everytime I use my BCS two wheeled tractor with the flail attachment, I feel like ive been wrestling with someone. My back is stiff and I cant feel my hands. Any one else suffered at the hands of this beast?

 

Oh yes, Dad bought one for the orchard and I can confirm that even brand new ones, or ones freshly serviced by the manufacturer are no better. To be honest I gave up trying to use the brakes to steer it and just lump it round the corners. 3rd gear is definitely best - it skips over the apples, ant hills etc much better then!

 

If you want a real workout though, try an Allen Scythe. I can do 2-3hrs on the BCS but 20mins on the Allen Scythe leaves me dead on the floor!

Had a good one today- I told pointed to a straight bit of work with no stumps and told Ed that he could probably use top gear due to lack of obstacles to steer round. Oh, and rev it right up before you dump the clutch, in case she stalls.

 

The rest of us on the strimmers near shat ourselves laughing!
