Hi all been flat out so just got back in to the forum:001_smile: i thought the show was good.But the chainsaws were way over priced:thumbdown:but did find out about a jungle exhaust for 390XP and like the new lpx chain from Oregon...

I have been to both the APF and the AA trade fair for the last 10 years both as a visitor and an exhibitor and thought that this was by far the biggest yet.

 

What a massive amount of things to see, just a shame that those paying had to pay on each day to get in even though they needed two days to get around.

 

Lads i know went to buy machinery and there were four of them, for two days thats £120 just to get in!

 

We had a bus load of students go (50 +) and they wouldn't give them a discount unless we booked well in advance and payed on booking. At that time we didn't know how many we would get going so couldn't book. I Thought that that was very unfair to people who are starting their Arb career and buying PPE etc to get stung so hard without any leneancy. Its hard enough for people that are new to the industry spending so much on PPE.

 

No where near enough toilets for the size of the site and the food was rubbish as has been said before.

 

Having said that, the weather, the people we met and the massive amount of stuff to see and learn made it the best i have been to for a long time.

 

Good to see so many Europeans kicking around both as exhibitors and visitors to.

Considering the rise in inflation, the cost of living, et al, and the fierce competition amongst the traders, the deals on saws that I saw were pretty good, in fact cheaper than shop prices a couple of years ago, so why do feel they were over-priced?

What are the prices in your local saw shops, Petemate? If they are that much cheaper in your area, it might pay you to buy a batch and flog them to us!

WEll they were to me as i get a pallet of what i am after from the USA:001_cool:sorry boys and girls the uk is asking too much!!!!! OH i went to the show which was good and paid the £30 for me and my wife, really, really enjoyed the show, spoke to some friends i havn't seen in a while, had a good long chat with Phil Dunsfield about the old axe racing. The weather was georgeous and we took a lovely picinc with us. All in all an absolutly brillient day out, well worth the £15 per head!!!

From what i've heard Jonsie was selling saws and equipment pretty cheap. Im interested in knowing where these cheap saws are sold since im not that far from Bala.?.
