isnt that what youve got mate? my one retrieves better than the webbing one..... i found that if the cocoon gets jammed in the ring it just takes a few flicks to dislodge it and sails through.dont get frustrated and just yank harder

I think atree is refering to the new RG's which use a soft eye instead of a ring and a plastic widgit to hold the soft eye open, they look like they should retrieve easy but have not tried one.

ive spliced a big open eye with shock cord inserted where the core was removed. it definetly didnt retrieve.at all. someone on treebuzz suggested making the rubber widget thing on a lathe so im gunna try making one soon. but i have no problems retrieving the cocoon and ring combo mind.

ok,well its definatly the wrong splice i have on the ring, you reckon take the core out and splice it flat on the ring?

yeah bro its a standard 16strand splice as per the samson instructions. get some spark, a bent coat hanger and its dead easy. if you wanna post the ring up ill splice it for ya..........:001_smile:
