splicing ropes

i want to learn how to splice ropes. can anyone point me in the right direction please.

i've never spiced a rope in my life. jamie has spliced a few for me though and i am more than happy with his work.

can splice 3 strand multiplait tennex but bought couple of splicing kits for climbing ropes and really struggled or should i stay struggling any tips would be accepted with renewed interest

Brion Toss, Making Your Own Eye Splices DVD is very good.

What rope and what splicing kit do you all have. be prepared to waste a lot of rope while learning and check out the manufacturers websites for general instructions
