1999 026 Sat for 4 years??? What next?

I have recently bought an 026 which has been used only a dozen times and has been in a colleagues shed for 4 years with fuel in it.

We dumped the old fuel and put in fresh, then pulled it over a few times and away she goes. The old chain has been burned up so we put a fresh one on the 18'' bar, it seems to be a bit gutless though (I used an 026 for a few years with a 16'' bar). I'm used to running a 372xp with 18'' bar or an ms 250 with 14''. The compression ain't all that good but is that cos I'm used to pulling the ms250? (no decompression button). The tick over is'nt constant and fluctuates a little.

So I figure that after sitting around for so long I will probably need to change something.:confused1: Diaphragm? Piston rings?

So expert opinions and advice welcome.

Before you do anything remove the muffler and see if the piston is scuffed/scored and then check the compression with a gauge if possible. Clean or replace the fuel tank vent. New fuel hose, fuel pickup, impulse hose, carb manifold, carb kit. It should be vacuum and pressure tested also...
