Any ideas?

Found these little(ish!) blighters while grinding some bolts off on our old barn. These were hidden on top of a piece of wood which has been there at least 40 years! The wood was from the Americans at the end of WW2. They didn't want it so my grandad took some when they were at the docks and they burnt the rest before he could get more.

 

Does anybody know what type of bullets they are? There are some markings but they are a bit obscure. There's an '89' on one of them.
