Elton chainsaw boots

Hi guys hows everyone doing hope working isnt that all bad for everyone.

 

Just wanted to ask a question about the elton boots, The boos has got me so new elton boots to try out and i just wanted to ask if their any good for day to day usage and climbing.

Depends which ones you have but i always used to say the original ones with the foam formed soles were like the ballet shoes for tree climbers.

 

Really comfy and supple for climbing in but not so hard wearing for ground work.

 

These soles have changed now but they still look really comfy.

 

Eltons were the first to develop boots that are more user friendly than the stihl clumpers used to be.

 

There are a few different level of Elton boot now so i guess they are suited for different applications.

 

Can't say for sure nowadays as i like my Haix. By far the longest lasting boots i have had apart from the Meindl but the haix are comfier for my feet than the Meindl.

 

Also tried - Husqvarna - stihl - oregon - elton and aqua duct over the years and was lucky to get a full year of battering out of any of them when i was climbing five days a week.

elten hydrofells would be some of the best boots ive ever worn...

 

lightweight, good waterproofing/breathability, robust and just plain comfy straight out of the box.

 

found climbing on spikes (kleins) with them very comfortable as well...

 

wore them five days a week for nearly 18 months before retiring them, and only then due to a couple of cracks in the leather letting in water, and the smell of them, going just the wrong side of deadly...

 

 

 

replaced them with a cheaper pair, regretted the decision and will be saving my pennies for another pair of hydrofells

I have the fellsman experts. Very comfy boots! Wear them 5 days a week for work and and also at the weekend if I'm out and about in the countryside in preference to my old walking boots. Very waterproof as long as they're waxed regularly. Can't comment on long term wear as I've only had them 3 months.

the steel toe cap rim always cut into my toes on the joints and always got really bad sweat rash

Thanks guys some different comments on these boots, i think its one of those things where its going to be up to the person wearing them to decide on how good they are its just good to hear some other peoples comments on them.

 

Once i get them which hopefully will be next week ill let you guys know how i get on with them

I don't think they have a steel plate in the sole which is what I prefer about the haix. It makes standing is spikes a bit more comfortable.
