throw line choice

i'm having rouble getting hold of decent throwline, the last two i cant even rember the make, i think one was edelrid, one snapped as soon as you starte pulling your rope up, and the one i have now generates so much friction that even with a heavy bag its tricky to get it to drop down, especialy on large limbs or thick bark, e.g oaks

 

any adviceo on a good one? i relise the error of my ways is buying the cheapest one in the shop.....but then i figured its just a throwline.....

Dynaglide with a heavy throw bag, you won't snap it!

Stein Skyline rated to 400kg pretty good, haven't snapped it yet

No it's super strong! You can use it for tying onto dead wood, hitch it to the truck and drive off!

I have a yale throw line, really happy with it! It's strong, and has low memory. can't recall what the price was, but i think its was around £25. hope this is of some help. western.

Just checked the New England site and it says 1000Lb tensile strength. Should be strong enough for ya!

The only throwline ive ever had that i havent had any complaints with is Liros (silverline i think). Fantastic stuff, but just cant seem to find it again. The stuff im using at the moment is edelrid i belive and is knotting all the time.

This may be it, im not sure.....its in the right price bracket to what i paid before though, and well worth every penny Liros Dyneema Throwline

I find the marlow stuff is not too bad although i need to trim the most used end off mine as its wearing through and i know she is gonna give in just when i need it. It does occasionally knot up but then that might be down to poor throwline management despite using a cube
