Can I join in as and when I can? I got a carving bar for my birthday in May and have managed to use it for an hour and a half! And on the same lump of wood, my first attempt is a cows head... there was one looking at me over the fence...might have bitten off more than I can chew! :)

of course you can join in as & when it suits you, this really is only for fun!! im in the same situation, bought carving bar, small saw etc....... over a year ago, still not even tried it, hence this thread.

guessed there was probably a few people about who had done little or no carving, im hoping this will encourage others as well as myself!! few more people an we'l go for it!!!!!!!!!!!

or shall we start with the pine mushys..

hahahaha, i was thinking of walnut or mahogony stag/rearing stallion for the third project!!!!!!!! yeah, keep it simple for the first couple, can always add some artistic flair to the simple 'shroom' !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :thumbup1:

What no pictures yet? come on guys get your carving bars out, i wanna see:001_rolleyes:

I would join in but found my artistic flair to be a bit non existent and any mushroom i have tried to do turned out looking like something else if you know what i mean:blushing:

Needless to say my friend has a huge bell end in his garden that i was very happy to leave onsite and still rooted into the ground

Im in, I have never done carving and don't have a creative bone in my body but did my first mushroom quickly yesterday. I will take a photo tomorrow and post it up here.

I've not seen a shell before so interested to see how these are done.
