North of London accommodation suggestions?

I"m flying into London on the Friday evening and heading to the APF on the Saturday.Can anyone suggest a town/city about an hour or two north of Gatwick?I`d stay there the night and then head to the APF in the morning.

2 Hrs North of London, hmm, Oxford is probably your best bet Mike. Excellent coach link from Gatwick then straight onto the M40 for a 1:30 run to the APF.

Mike there's a travel lodge type thing at Oxford Services just off the M40, that maybe you best bet, cheap and easy lol....
