Arb Aid Trauma kit

why shouldnt it be a pre-requisite? the standard issue kits and training are not enough to deal with the scenario mentioned above!

It's the money making side of it - don't mind paying for first aid training and it's something that everybody should have access to, but if courses end up costing a prohibitive amount.... hundreds and hundreds like the CS courses, then surely that's just more grief!

You can buy Explorer Cases (same as Pelican cases) from SAM Cases, in a good first aid kit size size (305x270x194m) for just over £50. Then stock it up with all you want for not too much money.

The idea of arb specific first aid training is good though. Just be careful that it doesn't become a money making venture that ends up as a pre-requisite for work though!

The ease of re-ordering supplies, the layout of the kit and the lack of hassle surely makes is better though?

I must admit I thought about a DIY approach and until I priced it up then I was going to do it - £260 for the contents alone, without the specialist stuff that only ArbAid does like the "silky plaster" (Genius!) or tweezer/magnifier thing.

As Hama said, surely having the best first aid kit should be above pretty much all else?

After the threads on here about too many industry deaths I would have thought people would jump on something like this... :001_huh:

I also have to carry some big bandages to wrap round peoples eyes when they see my chain

No but a good quality first aid kit is essential I used a cheap one for a while and I slipped and cut the side of my hand on my chain (saw wasn't running but the chain brake was on) it wasn't a bad cut but I didn't fancy getting blood on my new saw but the plasters didn't stick! So at the end of the day that went in the bin and I got myself a good quality one.
