Its a Wessex Flail.

Wessex Country flail mowers

Handy bit of kit. I,m between a compact tractor flail arm and a rear mounted flail at the moment. Trying to see if a can get away with just a flail arm, than I can batter a few hedges as well as grass areas. Onlyr thing is I don't know if I could drive a flail arm - it's seems like you need 3 arms and 2 sets of eyes to use them properly.

Thanks for that.

The flail arm we borrowed from our colleagues was crap to put it politely. It didnt have the guts to munch brambles or even small twigs from the hedgerows. It was more of a verge cutter than a hedge flail despite it having the hedge heads on. The rear mounted flail was the easier option for us.
