Hamadryads foray-Whippendell woods 17-9-11

Recommended Posts

Nice Phaeolus there :001_smile:. I haven't seen any growing above ground level myself.

It looks like you had another great day scaring small children up in Whip' Woods. How did the amount and variety of fb's compare to last year's display?

Whippendell Woods are a magical spot, and I am lucky enough to walk in the woods daily. I think it's great that your Senior Member 'Hamadryad' organised a foray there last weekend. I've looked at a couple of his postings and videos and it's obvious that he has a very deep knowledge of arborial matters and cares deeply about the ecology. I am glad that he introduced members of this forum to this lovely place.

Thanks for your welcome.

No, I don't know who extracted the beech trunk that you refer to, but there's a team from Nicholsons in the woods at the moment. So I guess it may have been them, if it was done recently. They've got some serious kit in there.

they taking a mog in my wood!
