Hey folks,

I have no formal arb education as all my work has been well, work. :) I'm hoping to do some form of formal qual in a year or twos time after seeing a bit of the world, but for now I want a few books that will help my scientific knowledge and be aimed at the amenity side, hazards, diseases etc as opposed to say woodland management!

Here's the catch!!!!

I'm dyslexic or a dumbass (depending which side of the fence you sit) and readings hard work! I'm much more a visual learner an pics and diagrams with written explanations are my kinda book!

Anyone recommend some essential reading material the please?

Helps much appreciated guys an girls as books are so expensive and I hate to buy a book and never read it!

Dak!

Claus mattheck books are very visual, terms and bits in them may be a little tricky to grasp but are simple enough when linked with the pictures. I've only got one but want to buy more.

Body language of trees

Stupsi explains the tree < on my wishlist!

I'm sure a certain dryad will recommend these books too!

Might I suggest a book titled, An Illustrated guide to pruning. By Doctor Ed Gilman. The Second addition is currently available at Amazon.com $74.44. I would hold out for the 3rd addition due out in August also from Amazon.com I am not sure about the price but the book has a fair amount of pictures and illustrations. I know Doctor Gilman and he is tops in his field. I hope this helps. Good reading.
