A question from a climber in the US

I don't know if this is where this is supposed to be posted, but owell. I'm getting ready to order some gear from a place in the UK called Honey Brothers and I was wondering how good customer service is, how reliable are they, etc. If, of course, anyone on here has bought something from them. I plan on buying a Tree Motion from them, and I'm just trying to make sure there a good company before I go and drop $400+ for a saddle that will be shipped across an ocean!! Thanks for any help!!

They are one of the bigger arb supplers in the UK, sponser many arb events and from my own experience are very reliable when sending out gear in the UK. I don't know if US customs will be an issue though, but I wouldn't worry about Honey Brothers side of the deal.

Because here, a Tree Motion runs you $600 + shipping/insurance. And since only one dealer in the US carries the TM, they can jack up the price as high as they want and people still buy them.

 

But with exchange rates right now, I can pick up a TM from the UK for only around $425 US Dollars + shipping and insurance, so around 220 pounds I think.

Could you not find someone who is going over the the UK in the next few months, and get them to bring it back. Honey Brothers are based in Guilford, just outside London. Most US visitors fly in to London or spend time visiting there. It will save you a fair bit in shipping and insurance.

try freeworker.de,german company,they've got all the gear and great prices. I work in france and get all my equipment from them. web site's in german, but if you give them a ring there's always someone who can speak english.

I've ordered from them on line AND visited the shop...great service everytime. They have sent stuff to me in Bermuda, remember to ask them not to charge you VAT as it is an overseas sale, you'll save a few $ with that!
