Air bags or leaf springs?

If that were true the 5.5 tonne iveco would be identical to the 3.5.

The reason they are heavy is that it is really difficult to build a 3.5 tonne tipper that weighs less than about 2.5 tonnes unladen.

You could confirm your thoughts on weights by checking design weights against plated weights .Then that would give a good idea what the vehical can carry safely etc but not legally so to speak

and back to air bags they absorb more road shock by miles thus giving your motor a easyer life than springs do" so less damage to the vehical longterm etc. I might be wrong but i thought a vehical with air suspension has less impact/wear n tear to roads too so you pay less road tax but this may only apply to lgv,s

Ok. will look at a 5.5 tonne at some point as I have not seen one. Was just guess as I thought the transit weighs less unladen?

More research needed on mbh.
