how much a ton ,road side

Just putting it out there to see what the demand is.I've herd of around £40 at road side.

With logs up to 24 inches, might be worth separating the firewood from the butts for sawmilling. Oak is commanding a good price up here at the moment - we went to see some nice straight trees up near Perth the other day with a professional timber grader, and the average price for the batch was £130 a tonne, including the lower grade fencing and beam quality sticks.

Should sell it no problem at that.

 

For firewood Oak, should ideally be seasoned and sold for winter 12/13 but we know very well it will be stored and split for this Dec.

 

Probably assuming all the usual caveats of access etc. start at £45/t roadside, for someone local it will still be a good price.

 

Forestry is hard enough, so if there's demand for the product its best to take advantage.

Very true,but I'm sure it will be on the fire this winter.I'm looking for good buyers if poss anyone no any good reliable firewood buyers I can contact.

How come you are cutting a minimum of 400 tonnes of oak in the middle of the bird nesting season?
