Hi, welcome to arbtalk!

 

Harness wise get what fits best and feels comfy! Try on as many different types as possible and see what you like.

 

As for other climbing gear goes, you're best getting someone to show you the ropes (no pun intended) and see what system suits you best to get a bit more of an idea what you like and dislike before spending lots of money...

Get your self to the arb fair this weekend if you can You will get the best advice there and Best of all get to try before you buy Pop along to F.R Jones and son stand if you do get to go

 

Or

1x Harness

1x Rope

2x Plussiks

3x karabs That's basic kit all you need to go going on

good advice there, just dont let them sell you all the expensive stuff (not that our equipment is ever cheap) try before you buy and find a system that works well for you.
