Petersfield Hants Ancient tree ?

Hi all

 

For those who live in Hants, Surrey and Sussex you may have seen this enormous ancient tree in the services at Petersfield next to the A3/A272 junction, sorry no pics but will get some.

 

Can anyone local or with knowledge tell us more ?

 

No one at the Garage, Mcdonalds, Premier Inn or Table restaurent knew anything but ALL said they were asked constantly and would like to know.

 

I'd guess 10ft- 14ft across with several split features and hollows

Its a great spot for sucking thick shakes and mcflurry's in its shade LOL

That is one awesome old tree have often wondered about its past we often stop in at those services be intresting if anyone knows any thing.

Les, your avatar photo had me confused for a moment there. That would have been one hell of a tree, but those are strange uniforms for service station workers.
