Taxus problem

Hi Folks sorry if this is a reacuring thread..we have some english yews on site that are showing severe signs of stress ... initially thought it may just be damage caused by the low winter temperatures. Apparently the first signs of what appears to be scorch was noted in one tree two months ago, this has got progressively more severe. Several other trees have since also showed damage and the symptoms seem to be spreading across campus which is quite worrying. All the affected trees are approximately 200 years old and are in sheltered positions. there are no other signs of pathogens on the foliage or bole, the foliage appearing brown and desicated. Has anyone any ideas, the trees have shown localised patches of what was assumed to be weevil damage for the pastcouple of years but nothing more.

regards

iv noticed there are a few about like that, and yet there are some right next to them that are fine? i would have guessed the dry weather would have had something to do with it but after seeing sine right next to affected ones maybe not?
