You will be inefficient Tony as you are pulling 3ft to advance 1, where as il casually walk up on my srt system. You may beat me in a race through sheer determination and bloody mindedness but who will be more tired and as a result leas ready for the ensuing rescue :)

Thats pretty much how I ran my ariel rescue in the 2008 ITCC. It is cool as hell but I think completely impractical for anywhere but a comp. Your never going to have that rig sitting around in the truck ready to go unless you have a lot of extra space and money. SImpler is better.

These are terrible unclear videos of how I set up my system for the ITCC but on a rec climb to get a friend into the tree. There is no trunk tie and it can be done with one rope or two.

so its all about the money it would cost to have as a rescue kit, a long roipe, and a 70 pound hitch climber set up a pulley saver with pinto 125 pounds. and a revolver

less than 400 quid in total, and good enough to be in competition use!

anyone arguing the toss on its practicality is really not thinking clearly IMO

In competition use it just comes out of your normal kit, plus if you win you get 1-200 quids worth of stuff anyway!

Rescue kits are just to keep the HSE guy happy, within reason, dont go overboard on it!

400 quid for something that will never get used aint gonna happen. Some second hand gear in a bag for just in case is more like it IMO.
