Nice answer Kev!

Also the defender is a 26 year old classic.... minor changes over the years, the new is very sophisticated and modern... much like the modern disco! So workhorse... anything but!

Put it like this... 1995 range rover when was new was £57k - 1995 defender 110 new was £22k NOW 1995 range rover £1 - 2k! / 1995 Defender £5k - 9k!

Defenders are a different breed altogether.... I think many defender owners or entusiasts get what I mean :)

I went into Ottons in Salisbury in 2007 and test drove a 110 new unregistered and it was £17,000 + vat how can a defender be 22k in 1995. I did not buy it because I could not see us driving it long distance so we stuck with the disco van.

I went to get a price on a new one the other month, I specked the 110 hicap 3500kg HD version but after this year (middle of iirc) the HD version of the 110 will no longer be produced.

In the end I went for a P reg 130 and am totally rebuilding it from scratch.

Sadly the galvanised chassis arrived yesterday after a long wait and I had to refuse it due to a really poor quality finish :(

Is it an actual 3.5 tonne GVW (with the huge front brakes and extra strips welded full length along the top and bottom of the chassis as well as the dual springs) or is it a 3050kg that has just had the dual springs fitted?

I checked ut isthe 3050kg with dual springs
