I never see the point in splicing prussic- it's a disposable item. I have worn a piece out since saturday ( harsh abuse) but illustrates my point

Its something to do in the evenings. I wouldnt buy spliced hitch cord though.

I know knots are not so tidy...but I prefer them 9 times out of ten somehow....Factory splicing isnt necessarily a good splice jus cos its factory...

i also prefer knots but dont work so well on my hitchclimber.

What reason was given for faliure and do you have a pic?

will get a pic shortly pete,apparently he threw it in the bin and didnt like the look of the eye to eye.its barely 6 mths old.climbed on it today

i wouldnt pay for a length with splices in it.....but yes i would climb with those splices

are you climbing with a HC with double fishermans on friction cord m8

6 months is quite an age for friction cord of any spec- think of the abuse it gets- i would have issues passing it on age alone. Was it glazed or did it have memory?

6mths old but hasnt had that much use as have been using homemade cords.use it with my HC works really well,main reason i bought it was the anti glaze speal honey bros gave me and to be fair it has,nt glazed much also try to use a fig 8 descender to come out of big trees to try and save friction cord
