Once again i'm leaving a thread because of theft, this time it was two ropes a lowering and a climbing rope taken out of a large black pop in Nottingham, they had been left at about 10 meters, someone had spiked up Sunday night and had the ropes away. though they were safe at that height obviously not. Though they didn't manage to get all the lowering rope had to pulleys up that the eye wouldn't go through, but what good is a 10 meter rope for.

I regularly leave rigging blocks, sometime with throwline left in. Depends if its in veiw of a road though. Someone would have had to see you workign to want to coma back and look for an opportunity.

Security by obscurity, if they don't know its there its safe!

Maybe it's because of where I live, but I wouldn't leave ANYTHING on site unattended . It's bad enough trying to keep the theiving dirtbags away from you kit while you're actually there with it.

It doesn't excuse it, but if you don't give people the opportunity to steal you stuff then, they can't.
