Good paper although a little out of date now in my opinion. The key phrase to sum up the paper has to be: "strong and vibrant future for arboriculture; focusing on tree benefits rather than the preoccupation with tree problems that has dominated the evolution of urban tree management to date".

 

Since 2009 a lot more research in to tree benefits has happened - interestingly enough by Forest Research of the FC. See this excellent paper:Forest Research - Forest Research publishes new reports on the benefits of green infrastructure
