Ben, I should be going down, think it could be a good laugh!

Gustharts are on the CE, how long?

I wish I could tell you!:blushing:

....Trying to find out though because I'm sure you'll all be asking at Arbfair North next week

Drew,

If you just hit the top bar nothing happens! You have to press both the top and bottom together.

I certainly would not back up my spiderjack but as I said I did originally back up the uni, not for safety but to help with the transition to srt for work positioning.

I know it's not for everyone but I do believe if more people tried it it would have a huge following.

Pressing, knocking, swiping etc releases the hold.

For limb walking you can run a hand along the rope and nudge

the top bar with the wrist. It very fluid as there is no

additional friction to fuss about.

If the uni is close accidental knocking can occur.

If its on a tether like the above picture this is much less

Likely to happen.

*sigh* I still have not got my unicender, for me i doubt it will replace a friction hitch for most work climbs I only want it to really polish my srt system which is pretty err yeehaa (but safe and works!).

hey deerman-what i mean is that if a branch falls onto the top of it it opens up. A scenario i discussed in oz was if the cam opened up ona top ascender (ie twig in the cam) you might pull down expecting the cam to grab but instead would pull it down onto the uni and keep it via a panic grip. Im definetly not bagging the uni, spent time on one lots and many friends here love them but i just feel its a very advanced tool that has to be treated with a lot of respect as i believe it has more potential for danger on srt than a hitch on dbrt. its a great tool in the correct hands though

Sad times.. I feel your pain:laugh1: Is it ordered from the States or Gustharts pre-order?

As in i have not got round to buying it, so many other things i need in life this little luxury is just going to have to wait a little bit longer.
