Burning ivy?

Hi,

 

I've ringed up a tree that was covered in ivy around 3" diameter, and so now have a fair number of 10" long ivy "logs".

Is this safe to burn when seasoned? I've done a few Google searches that have taken me to sites warning of the dangers of smoke from poison ivy, but they were US sites and could be talking about a different plant.

It's amazing how many people think ivy is poisonous. American poison ivy is a completely different thing. Our ivy is fine to burn.

Was watching the Father Ted where he kicks Bishop Brennan up the a**e last night. Cracking stuff

When dry it burns really really well, been using ivy from an ash tree as kindling recently.
