Phone number Spoofing, Sneaky?

Mr Tom, Which company do you use, I just looked at the VoIP site seemed good, but should I use the big names like BT,

I used to have an 0845 number which was handy as it was lo-call rate for people to use and was also non specific to an area so its the exact opposite of what your describing, but i found it worked well and also to an extent looked more professional when dealing with bigger organisations. Now most my work is for a handful of organisations i dont bother anymore but if i was going and doing more contract work i wouldnt hesitate to set one up again

Well when works lean one needs to cast there nets wider,

I see a lot of large companies on there website say call our such and such depot, with a local number to appear local, even though there a actually a few towns away.

 

I regulatory subbie 2-3 hour drives away but for my own work its rare to break away from my local town, which is mostly conifers and not very exciting etc and becoming more and more saturated with landscapers and gardeners buying pole saws and now being tree surgeons too,

 

So does anyone use spoof phone numbers to tap other towns and be that local tree surgeon just down the road, when in reality your a few towns away?

 

Does it work?

 

How much does it cost and what is involved?

There is a company in Chobham, Surrey, that has various area codes that all go through to their Chobham office! I have seen quite alot of them quoting around my area even down my road in one of their so called office areas of Hersham???????????!!!! I would say it does work, don't know how much it costs though?

When I say down my road, I park my van with "tree surgery" in big letters written on it. When I spoke to my neighbour who had this company in they said "Oh!, if I knew you were a tree surgeon I would have got you to do it"!!

very common I think you'll fiond my Yell rep pretty much told me i'd be silly not to do it, eople liek to get the 'local guy' in, kinda sad in a way.
