i think it's perhaps P. ferreus

... or P. truncatus and it could also be Dichomitus campestris.

Can’t add more to the above suggestions but it does look like P. ferrous to me...but then, I think I’ve only come across it on a couple of occasions in the past

4-9 - Gymnopilus? on hardwood chip

10-12 - Unknown fungi growing directly underneath Douglas Fir

13-16 - Unknown fungi growing from old wound on very mature beech.

17-19 - Lycoperdon sp? growing on stump.

Shall take an slr with a better zoom as compact was on limit of zoom. Although i am out there this saturday. i shall see if i can knock some out whilst on stop on the track.
