New climbing rope

I know is a boring topic but I'm just about to buy a new climbing rope and I've got in mind the New England HV.

 

Anyone has a better idea keeping in mind quality/price??

 

Or a supplier with a good offer??

Well are you after a 16 strand rope? There are ropes similar priced made by Yale. All the xtc series aree 16 strand 13mm and very similar to the new England, i have a length of scorch which I really like.

Well it's just that I have used the New England before and I feel more confident about it, but the Yale ones looks good as well... I'll consider it, thanks.

The limited experience I have of the new England rope I thought it was stiffer than the Yale equivalent.

 

My favourite Yale rope is the scorch. It feels softer than others and runs well on a vt

Better the devil you know mate. There are loads of alternatives, with hundreds of different reasons why, but if you have used it before and can do your job well with it then get some more. Should be fairly similarly priced at all major dealers.

 

If you really wany a change then try and get to one of the arb shows this year and try some others.

I was climbing on the new england its really good.....I had to get a second new kit for a lad who works with me I went for the yale spearmint.

 

I know you cant realy compare the 2 as the new england is 3 years old but I am well impressed with the yale its really smooth and with the vt its great so much so I've pinched the yale and given the new england to the lad who works with me:sneaky2:

 

I'd just toss a coin.

Got a new yale spearmint off my boss on friday,actually looking forward to monday to try it out..i'll let you know on monday how it is.
