Beech help

Hi,

 

Was out at friends yesterday. he asked me to have quick look at his beech trees. this what i found......

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

mainly al of beechs show signs of ustulina.

 

what are they like to climb when ustulina is this far gone.

most of his tree have no bark on the bottoms of there stems is this one of the cause of ustulina because i have also pictured a pine with no bark on.

 

any thought i would be greatful

what are your thought on climbing them as they are to close to the house for a striaght fell.... will have to be chogged down.

id climb them, that is only surface superficial, just dont do any heavy rigging, just bosh bits off.

Good ident Hama but really, would you climb them? I'm not being facetious but what about Mattek and the 30% rules etc?

We can't see the tree tops but IMO that looks like a job for a hoist or winch assisted felling if buildings are near.

I'm interested in your reasons for having such confidence to climb them as you always appear to be a fountain of knowledge.

so them big white brackets arent ustunlina........ silverleaf i did think that by the fungus runing up the stem..... there is large tar colour fruitbodies located aswell. when i compare to other pictures to other beech fungus pictures i thought it was ustunlina.

nedl (electric company)shrouded the lines of all in it went fab . the customer took pictures i wack them up got to go back to crown lift some trees so i'll get them then

I said I would, and i would, not suggesting you do! but then there aint many I wont climb! as for matthecks rule what has that to do with me being in it on a still day? without doing rigging off it?r right though and my assessment is based on the lower stem.
