I seem to recall being suitably freaked by it when it was shown on one of the Attenborough programs.

Another absolute marvel - no matter when an individual discovers it.

Thanks for posting.

Indeed, just teasing, its what we do best!

tis a remarkable thing, I sometimes ponder the meaning of mycophageous, a term scientists use for species that are involved with fungi in some way.

I would say that ALL life is mycophageous, so making the term rather pointless!:001_rolleyes:

I thought mycophageous described an organism that 'ate' fungi.

I may be stuck with a schoolboy's definition.

Does it also have a more encompassing meaning?

crikey you lot are slow on the uptake! this was revealed in the secret life of plants over a decade ago!

A decade ago I was more interested in the crash, bang, wallop aspect of arb. Not to mention not long out of school, old man:001_tt2:

good question, i thought it was that an organism transfered/ate that it had in its life cycle some connection with fungi as apposed to purely eating. I shall investigate

I was just teasing because i spoke of these before, and i hung on attenboroughs every word as a child.:001_cool:

I think my wife has been infected by a fungus. Her whole existence is driven by an uncontrollable urge to spend my money, usually on tat.

Come to think of it, it may be me with the fungus letting her get away with it.
