Dont worry- i have been berating myself ever since.......I am going back to remove another one soon at the same address.....in case it drops pine cones on the garage:001_rolleyes:

I think that the one next to that one may have a dead branch or two.....so thats on the list aswell:lol:

Just a follow on question, not having a dig but out of intrest, could you have knocked it out in bigger bits and avoided any lowering?

 

The lowering was only to swing it round to the landing zone, otherwise we would have lost those bits down the hill.....ok- we did a couple of bits unnecessarily, for piccies sake, but we also knocked out some pretty big chunks........this is the 088 and 3' bar at its limit, taking out the whole stem we craned off in one hit:001_smile:

as tom says,, without seeing the ground around it looks like unnecessary lowering,,

 

to the left of the tree is a steep hill for 40 foot, then a road,, power lines running along the edge,,, 90% of the tree overhung the hill so it needed to be swung back round to the path,,

 

trust me when i say,, if we could have smashed it down without lowering,, we would have..
