At that size you should forget the tea and get yer butt in gear! Should be doing between 3 and 5 per hour if they are close.

I had a round of 300 gardens for garden aid to be cut twice a month working 8am to 6pm and rarely had to work a friday to get them done:001_tongue:

I do one garden and charge £5 but if she is in i go over it 3 times to make it look like its taking me enough time to charge a fiver lol

Aha, I only got that many to last me all the week.

I've put some more cards in the local shops today, with a bit of luck I will get more mowing only jobs.

Thanks all

I do a lot with the Strimmer only, Walking backwards mulching gardens is very quick if they dont need raked. If the grass is longer I walk forwards with over 180° sweeps that way it puts all the grass between my legs and that way you only need to rake half of the garden:biggrin:

Lots of power needed though FS450 is my tool of choice.

Others get the full Mower treatment some only get cut rough, Theres a market for a cheap no frills grass cutting service, Some people just want it cut and dont care if it is picked up or striped.

If they own a dog the price doubles.......

"Cheap as chips" that's us:thumbup:. Big machines and sites close to base - we fly through big grass areas, especially when they are cut every 10 days. Remember even an Allen National 68" will cut 2 acres an hour - and we're cutting with 72" rotarys going more than twice the speed (see avatar)

certainly is cheap!

i can see you'll probably get a fair bit of business that way but i wouldn't have thought that leaves you an awful lot in a maintenance & repair fund after you take out profits.

decent equipment does cost to maintain as i'm sure you're well aware.

I know it seems a bit low, but just checked and that's the price for large areas cut on a regular basis. Spons External Works & Landscape Price Book 2011 quotes around a £1.00 per 100m2 so cutting 6000m2 for £60 is bang-on the money.

Thing is the guys cutting tiny lawns are getting £10 for a postage stamp, but larger sites have other things attached to them and to do that part you have to do the grass also.

If you can cut 16,000 m2 an hour thats £160 an hour not bad money.

Know what you mean i cut some grass for not much profit but make good money on other parts of the site.
