Blimey!

I must admit that I that that "Devon Hedge" was protected.

I would not feel happy with that damage done to my tree. Were you not in the house when the work started? Didn't you neighbour even have the courtesy to let you know of his intentions?

Good luck with that one!

My OH was home when it was done.

Totally ignored apart from childish comments from other family members

Neighbour wouldn't know courtesy if it waved a big banner saying

"i'm courtesy".

but anyway looks as if we haven't got a leg to stand on.

council says its got to go and looks as if we've got the bill too.

So bl**dy frustrating but if they're not behind us.. what can we do?

I think they just think its a neighbour's dispute.

we just don't need the aggrevation so we're going to give in for a quiet life.

So does anybody near us want a job ?

I will start a new thread for this!

Try your insurance company first mate. They might have a different view on it. Somebody elses operations endangering your property and their policy might not go down too well.

There is even a chance that the removal might be covered by the policy.

And these days it is difficult to buy a policy that doesn't have legal expenses: if so then you should be chasing the neighbour for replacement as well as removal.

Somebody here will be able to tell you how to put a price on that.
