LOL see what you mean. That could maybe have been the nuclear flask train....that is pretty odd, and only travels at night unless in exceptional circummstances. They have some pretty weird stuff on the railways mind. Never saw that though.

Far out. I was up a tree a few weeks back and saw this really weird thing that was really small, but in between 2 mahoussive engines on a nearby line. Apparently it was a special machine for cleaning plant sap off the rails called a rail head treatment train.......I have just googled it, and got this pic....I am now wondering if that is the ghost train maybe- check out the steam and stuff from the tanker things its towing..:confused1:

they use them for rail cleaning of leaves and stuf noisey as usually have a genny built onto them high pressure jetters and sometimes traction gell aplicators !

 

even better are rail grinders for reprofiling the rails about 30 grinder heads aparently and sparks everywhere ! lol

Reminds me of years ago living in a truck in a field near a railway line....woken up at 2 am thinking it was the end of the world or aliens landing when the mega tree trimming machine came through. Scared the sh it out of me!!

 

What were u doin livin in one o them in a field?
