Im off on holiday tommorrow so will be off line for a week. going to the peak district, hoping the weather will hold.

 

be back in sunday.

where abouts in the peaks you going?

 

Old Glossop charlieh..do you know it? Any where nice to go around the area?

there is some fantastic walking up there if you get up onto the top of bleaklow plateaux great views on clear days. I worked up there for a bit on the moorland restoration.

 

also if you do get up on the moors, seee if you can spot any of this, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cloudberry

 

the leaves look like redcurrent leaves on the floor, its the tastiest berry ever! (but quite rare)

 

i recon the walking will be great if the weather holds,

Cheers Charlieh i will look out for the cloudberry.look forward to a different habitat , havnt spent much time on moorland, want to see what birds are up there and trees of course.

IM back...cor blast coming back froma week of excitment and lesiure hurts when you know you got to go back to work:sad:

Welcome back cernearb.

 

I am off to the peaks for a week later this month - any top recommendations as well as Kinder scout? Have been to Hathersage and surrounding area a bit before. We are staying in Tideswell this time.
