I think this guy gets the setup right. I know he is using DRT but you can use the same principles on SRT. This DRT looks really energy efficient and this is what im going to get geared up to try.:thumbup1:

That setup is a rope walker, where both ascenders are under the hitch for progress and the hitch captures the progress. Kind of similar to what Paul is describing..(i think).

What i was describing is slightly different because one ascender is above the progress capture device(croll). I think what I was describing is a frog or frog walker.

Anyway this will help..

The rope rocket system mentioned in that PDF is really good! I have tried it myself, works with a hitch or maybe a wild country ropeman. The steps tend to be a bit smaller than the tree frog type setups.

What are the benefits of having the ascender above the rope capture point (petzl croll or hitch)?:confused1:

In my head i imagine it would not be as fast as 'rope walking' but you gain the aided help of the hand ascender.

Interesting stuff in that pdf, Just experimenting myself.

Currently on a handled assender, with a length of cord linking it to my harness as well. A croll with an adjustable length of cord round my neck to maintain its position and a pantin.
