i charge £120 for gardening but feel it needs to be much more for tree work due to the risks and all the ropes etc... I was thinking of trying £350 a day

£350 a day is ok. So a forty foot Oak reduction = £175.00 tops, and that should include clear up.

well done on getting you certs ,that is your first step in the right way ,reductions ,to be done right take more than cs 30 ,38,39 etc ,making sure your tree has the correct cuts and in the right place etc . if its your first job dont be quick to slap on the £'s . Make sure its done right ,and so on and so on ,and the rest will follow .just try and cover your costs on the first few jobs unless your quite sure your capable of doing a spot on job

Thats why I asked for pics!!

we're in amersham in bucks.. we charge 4 to 500 for half day..[unless theres lot of hedge cuttin..] and between 8 and 900 if its a full day... [more if its ticky job].. thats for 3 workers.. wether a climbers needed or not.. like i said i have to pay climber between 150 + 180 day so he'd be savin that.. wether u wanna pass that savin to customer is up to u... most crews round here charge 500 a day 4 one climber ana 1 groundsman.. but there all done by lunch time.. when i pay climber i need him [or her] to be doing a good day..

 Well Done Aiden

Decide what you think you're worth first of all, you also have to take into account your expenses, fuel, wear on kit etc, if you're using machinery cost that on top!

Remember though that you're doing you're first tree for yourself and that is priceless, you'll never forget this one mate! But most importantly, everything you do from now on is advertising your work, you're only as good as your last job mate!

All the best, keep us informed
