Beech trunk ££££

I have the job of dismantling a healthy beech tree. Unfortunately it has to come down as the owners have just had a survey on the house and they have said it needs to come out as it is far too close to the house now.

The owner is sad that it is coming out and wants the trunk to be sold to a woodworker for planks or for carving.

It is about 3 ft at base and about 30 ft tall.

It is in the Milton Keynes area

If anyone can offer any help for contacts or is interested please reply.

Thanks

How close are we talking?

I know it makes it more awkward for you but something to bear in mind trees close to buildings should be removed gradually otherwise there is a risk of ground movements as the water level will rapidly increasing potentially causing cracks in the brickwork of the property.

Soil heave is only going to occur on shrinkable clay subsoils and, if that's the case, generally the tree would need to pre-date the building. Recent buildings should be built to withstand these soil movements.
