I started at 30. It helps if you like the physicality and try and learn effective techniques so you dont end up thrashing yourself too hard... My main concern timescale wise would be exit strategy, how quickly you can setup for yourself, move into consulting, managing contracts etc... dont really wanna be on the tools forever eh.

Go for it!

Cheers for responce folks.

I get a short bit of climbing training, then I have to do a climbing test and if I pass that I get a couple of months training to complete certs and providing I complete certs I get an Interview with the view to getting a job.

Im thinking even if I didnt get hired at interview at least I would have all of the certs to approach other employers to gain more experience.

Kiwi Climber I know what you mean about getting ahead to working for myself so I can get of the tools again at some stage I think I can get financial backing to start up but will need the experience behind me & I have thought about maybe looking at mix of tree work and landscapeing/garden maintenance to spread out the work load.

cheers

Well I am 30 and im female and the odds are against me but im currently saving to do my cs30 &31 in sept and will be seeking employment anytime from sept onwards if I was in your shoes I would jump at the chance im struggling with funding atm and am applying for a grant that starts taking applications in summer in my area so looks like im stuck until at least sept before I can get started but plenty of time to carry on learning in and as others have said it depends how far your intending on going with it ,i would love my own business but need experience and the only place im going to get it is learning from others and working alongside others so i have a lot to learn but im pretty determined and all my family friends know what im capable of and reckon i should go for it ,its somthing i enjoy doing ,do you think you will enjoy it ?being out in all weathers etc pushing yourself physically if so then go for it and good luck
