Not exactly off. Looks like they're still planning to dispose of all the FC estate, but it will be leased instead of sold which will allow the government to impose more conditions than if they sold freehold.

That defra link sounds quite promising on paper, lets see if it's just more political rhetoric, I hope not but i'm very cynical of any noise coming out of a politicians mouth.

Up here in the frozen North the FCS continues to quietly flog huge acreages to the Duke of Argyll et al with no howls of outrage from bearded mountaineers or bushy-browed archbishops.....

Hopefully normal sales will resume shortly when all the fuss has died down.
