When i did my 30/31 one of the people turned up with a 066 with a 25" bar. He did not have the knack for starting it, but it kept us entertained until the instructer took pity on him, and lent him his.

Cheers , if it's in good shape I'll buy a shorter bar .The course providers supply saws but I'd rather turn up with my own.

I have a 440 magnum (US Spec).

It is an excellent saw both for felling large stuff and a good size and not too heavy to handle in the harness or mewp.

Balances nicely with a 20" bar.

Probably a bit on the big side for what you want, but if the money's right, don't pass it up.

You will be able to do just about anything with a 15" and a 20" bar for it.

I have an 044, and after using it for a day i dont feel any different than when i use the 346 all day. The 20" bar does balance extremely well, but think i'm going to invest in a 24" as my back will thank me i'm sure!!
