hardwood timber value

hi there,

 

i still have out standing order for hardwood logs in my area. i have had a qoute from a local company of 1300 pound for 27 tonne of hardwood limbs.

 

what is this price like.

Is that delivered or roadside?

 

Works out at just over £48 per tonne, which is about as cheap as your going to find it at the moment.

i its delivered. it would work out i would have to charge about 70-80 pound a tone once split and fuel costs. i would of thought that would be rather expensive

I would say you wont find it any cheaper than that anywhere delivered in.

 

Dont sell it by the tonne. If you sell it at £80per cubic metre, which is perfectly resonable, you will make more money. 1cubic metre will weigh less than a tonne.

 

Dont be afraid to put your prices up, explain to your customers about the increase of fuel, raw material costs, etc...

If you have orders to fulfill then take it at the price youve been quoted, cut it, log it, sell it (at the right price) and take your money, happy days:thumbup:
