royal mail signed for, not signed for!

I've just had post delivered, one small package through the letter box, I heard the postman come up the stairs (I live in a flat) post it and leave, no doorbell, no knocking. Hours later when I went out there were two boxes on doorstep, one supposedly to be signed for. Surely this is wrong, anyone could take them!

On top of that, I have some very unsavory neighbours and a note on the door saying not to leave parcels with any of them, one currently in prison for theft! What would you do? Complain to royal mail? Or keep it and say it was never delivered!

Oh, and last week a parcel was delivered to the right number, but the wrong road! Luckily the guy came and gave it to me, but not before opening it :( not impressed

Report it!

Royal Mail are getting worse... Just before Christmas i saw the van pull up outside and the postman posted a "sorry you wasn't in" slip through the door as if they had tried to deliver a parcel. He didn't even have it with him! :sneaky2: He got away before i could get out the door! I had to go and collect it form the depo myself!

I complained online and had a response saying no one answered the door! But if you don't complain, it will never change.

I would be glad you got it,& not pretend you did not receive it,as thats dishonest,(no brainer),but if you feel the service was not up to standard put in a complaint about it.

The guy who opened your other parcel would probably say he didnt read the name & address before opening, but at least he went out of his way to get it to you.

Glad it all worked out for you at the end,it is a pain when these things go adrift!:001_smile:

Had the same thing the other day. My mum collects steiff bears and she had one delivered but the idiot left it out side in the rain and this should have been signed for but it wasnt, but he didnt even put a card threw the door. thank fully the bear was ok tho as it was an expensive one.

Get in touch with the sender of the parcel as he has paid for a service he did not receive. Ask him to get in touch with RM and get proof of the signed delivery, you will probably find that 'you' did sign for it but the signture looks nothing like yours.

If he did not receive the service he paid for then he will be able to claim. You got your parcel and are no worse off but if it is something you have raised before do so again, in writing.
