No, its just a simple case of actions having consequences, whats that old saying "if you can't do the time, don't do the crime"

 

Yeh so if I find a ***** in my house walking out with my tv and decide to give him a crack I should be punnished in every aspect of my life for the rest of my life for an assault charge?????? Fair enough on certain crimes but you can't just use the word record as a blanket excuse and if you do commit a crime then you do do the time!!! So time served and learn from mistakes

A contract of insurance is one of uberimei fidei(sp??)..a "contract of the utmost good faith". An insurer offering liability cover is well entitled to know whether the potential client has a previous conviction & can take a view on its relevance. Just suppose the conviction was for a breach of health & safety laws, what might that say about the client.

 

It could say a lot or it could just say he's made a mistake due to the unfortunate circumstances of being a human, or it could say he had a dealing with a jobsworth h&s exec, I do see your point but trust works both ways, they don't trust us but we have to take it on trust that the insurer will pay out upon an incident taking place, which isn't always the case

Hi there iknow this much if y have a CCJ county court judgement it's nearly impossible to get to get PL insurance anywhere ,so would think it's very likley that a criminal record would have a slimilar effect

on getting PL insurance .insurance companys are very choosey these days anyone that they consider a problem t to them is a higher risk so they exclude anyone that falls into a higher risk cats even though it may be unrelated
