Firebricks

Anyone else replaced their stove bricks recently? I was shocked to find my local supplier wanting 68 quid for a set for my hamlet.

Looked at getting some vermiculite board and cutting them myself, but the sizes that i`ve found wont produce the bricks i want without buying a lot of additional board. Thereby working out expensive.

Fixable?i`ve got some stove cement.Only one brick is completely broken, the rest are cracked.

Tightwad i know, but i was expecting 20-30 quid tops and it chaffes a bit.So anywhere i can get some at a sensible price.Or a reasonable alternative.

Cheers guys.

Our aarrow EV11FWB needed a full set of 6 bricks this year. The only online price I could find was £104:sneaky2:

Bought 2 sheets from M.V.F and 10 minutes with hand saw - job done:thumbup1:

300x500x25 £9.10 and 600x500x25 £18.20 - Hope this helps C.J

The baffle plate on my aarrow rests on top of the fire bricks.

Yes you can use it without the bricks but without the baffle more heat goes out the rear flue pipe and the door glass doesn't keep so clean.

So your burning more wood and getting less heat out:thumbdown:
