For cutting firewood a 16" bar is good but what is the biggest sensible saw you would use. I like the idea of small bar big saw but with small bar it must be a bit unbalanced and you must be carrying the weight of the saw all day ?

I ran woods ported and stock 084's with 16" to 24" :biggrin::thumbup:

Wow they look good. I don't suppose you do mail order mods? I'd be interested in a more opened up muffler for both my 260 and 660. Doesn't need to be like those 084s. Something with a little less restriction would do great!

026 all you need is a husky 288 deflector and drill a hole. depending on the muffler you have for the 026. $15

The best 066 muffler mod is the factory OEM stihl dual port cover $45. Then open existing hole on side to size of deflector, like they used to be.

Also drill out interior basket holes thats over exhaust port inside or remove altogether.

Here is a stihl 084 muffler cover I made to copy the stihl oem dual port muffler cover of a 066. I used a husky deflector.

This DP cover I made allowed the 084 to cut better cut times then that one with that pipe sticking out of it. :biggrin:

Also the one with the pipe, burned my :cursing: hand on a stump cut.

Look what way the oem DP stihl muffler covers direct the flow, :lol: I figure they were on to something
