Firewood Poem

Im buning this years sycamore,it is 4 to six inch branch wood,and it goes alright,not the best maybe but its ok,you need the air round it to season it or it can get a bit mouldy,especially if cut in summer with the sap up.

was it someone on here who mentioned that all wood dried to the same moisture content has the same calorific value of heat pound for pound

It's probably based on the fact that elm was traditionally used to make coffin boards and may have been considered unlucky.
