get in, succesful hi-jack!

but they are a worthy saw, in fact i feel a bit left out when these kind of debates rage as we don't have any stihls (apart from 200s) and we only hav 1 husky

They're both very good saws Ad mate I like the feel of the husky better not much better but I know them 660s last years I've been offered one on the cheap we don't need another big saw but it's such a good saw. Hope they don't phase them out in favor of the 661 because they done that with the 440 and the 441 I can't get away with the 441, we worked with some other lads today and I used their 441 to give it another chance and I don't think it's a patch on the 372 xp but that's another ongoing debate:001_rolleyes:

think the choice is made,,,,

thanks for the tips fella's..

to summarise for future searchers, reasons for going for the 660 over the husky are

1. 660 is lighter

2 parts are cheaper than the husky

3. all my other saws are stihl, so i know my way round them,,,

4. reputation of the 660 is legendary

5. 395 has single sided attachment handle prone to snagging,

4. would love to wait for the 661 but it seems it may be a while off yet..

i do like huskys so much so i have a real one,, but am afraid my first husky saw will not be a 395

thanks again

The 395 is still a fantastic saw too so would would just go for which is the best price at the time.

My opinions on the whole range of saws only coming from my experiences would be

Climbing saw: stihl 200t

Mid range saws: huskys 395/357 etc

Big saws: stihl 660/880 etc

I have a MS660 which i got to use with my Alaskan. I've never really gotten on with it. Used it a few weeks ago to do a big Chestnut some 4' across performed well. Going to be getting a 395 to see if i like it more.

Seem to get Husky Parts cheaper than STIHL ones (or i just break expensive STIHL bits a cheap Husky ones)
